Every JA Volume comes packaged with a high quality CD that typically includes piano, bass and drums with stereo separation. The left channel contains the bass and drums. The right channel contains piano and drums. If you are a keyboard player or guitarist you may want to turn off the right channel and practice with the bass and drums which are on the left channel. Bass players would do just the opposite.

The instruction book has not only the lead line (head) and easy to read chord changes in C-Bb-Eb-and bass clef but is chock full of supplemental information with a detailed analysis of each tune and how to study and practice. Every volume/cd comes with a scale syllabus, suggested listening and more. Regardless of what instrument you play the CDs will work for you. I've used them for years and I know a lot of pros that have as well- try one and you'll be hooked too! There are Volumes for every ability level- so just make sure you pick out something that is at your level or somewhat above and you'll be happy. Note they are not necessarily ordered in regards to skill level!
